As it is responsible for 40 % of GES in Québec, the transport industry faces quite a challenge: contribute to the reduction of polluting emissions of the province.
The industry has at hand many different options to achieve this goal, which are also complex ones. Some seek to be more energy efficient and reduce consumption, while others go for less polluting alternatives. Still, one fact remains: efficiency is the only way to go to produce useful results yet minimize waste.

What is energy efficiency and how can it help reduce the industry’s environmental footprint? What is the industry currently doing to reduce its polluting emissions? Does Efficiency represent – for the transportation industry -- the essence of its expansion? That is what the analysis of the concept of Efficiency will attempt to demystify considering the economic perspectives in Québec, which is on the road to economic recovery.
