A major event for the Québec manufacturing industry: The Québec Ground Transportation Cluster, CTT Group and the Technopôle Defence and Security (TDS) present an industry grand premiere: Innovation Partnership 2011, on November 22 and 23, 2011, at the Québec City Convention Centre. This international manufacturing industry show brings together three major sectors under a single roof—defence and security, technical textiles and ground transportation—through three events: Defence Security Innovation, Expo Hightex - Advanced Workwear Canada and the Journées Carrefour-Transport. In collaborating, the partners aim to create a common synergy and increased networking and business links, while stimulating high-level business development between the various economic players on hand. It’s also a first in Québec in that it gives manufacturers the opportunity to discuss innovative technologies and develop business networks around three specific sectors in a single place. Innovation Partnership 2011 features exhibitions, conferences and business meetings. In figures, the show represents over 45 Canadian and international original equipment manufacturers seeking high-quality suppliers that meet specific needs (list posted at www.partnership2011.com), 1200 business meetings, 60 world-class conferences, 125 exhibitors and 1200 delegates. The event will also give more than 300 students from seven countries the chance to share their knowledge with manufacturers by taking part in 24 hours of innovation. This competition, addressed to university students in various disciplines, is set to take place over 24 consecutive hours during Innovation Partnership. In response to problems submitted by attending manufacturers, the students were mandated to propose innovative solutions. Alongside it all, the Québec Department of Transportation’s Centre de gestion de l’équipement roulant (CGER) will be presenting five of its recently acquired vehicles: three of them electric, and two low-speed. Innovation Partnership 2011 will host a number of distinguished guests, including the Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade, and Minister responsible for the Capitale-Nationale region Sam Hamad; assistant deputy minister of the business service branch Jean-Marc Sauvé; Michelle Morin-Doyle, municipal councillor, member of the executive committee and deputy mayor of Québec City; and Martin Aubé, director of the transportation equipment branch, and Marie-Annick Drouin, director of the consumer goods branch, both of the Department of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade. www.partnership2011.com Source | CTT Group Source | Technopôle Defence and Security November 28, 2011 / Micheline Nalette / Cynthia Côté |
